International brands: a guide to exhibiting at a UK trade show

As far as menswear trade shows go, Jacket Required has made a name for itself as the only one of its kind in the UK. We love bringing together the best of British and international buyers and brands all under one roof at the iconic Old Truman Brewery.

If you’re an international brand exhibiting at Jacket Required this season, there are a few things to keep in mind as you plan for your trade show abroad.

Before the trade show

With buyers coming to East London to check out collections from menswear and lifestyle brands alike, the first thing you need to do is make sure you’ve got enough stock to meet the potential demand. Your stand is your opportunity to showcase your collection and bring to life the identity of your brand. If you’re planning to have your stand made, it’ll be more cost effective and logistically easier to source the materials needed in the UK, rather than shipping them from overseas.
It goes without saying, but we’ll say it anyway – lock your travel details in early. From visas to flights and hotel bookings, the sooner you lock in your itinerary, the cheaper and more stress-free it’ll be. As Jacket Required takes place in the heart of East London, you’ll get to see more of what Shoreditch has to offer if you stay in the area. The address and exact show times can be found here.

During the trade show

Jacket Required exemplifies the melting pot of sub cultures that makes London such a distinctive fashion destination. This means as an exhibitor from abroad, you’ll get to meet other designers and buyers who are part of this unique community. So that you can focus your efforts on those face-to-face networking opportunities, make sure your stand and marketing material are set up and ready in plenty of time before the trade show kicks off.

After the trade show

Considering Jacket Required is the UK’s only menswear-first fashion trade show, you can expect to come out of the show with plenty of leads to follow up on and orders to fill. Thousands of buyers are visiting the show each year and represent independent retailers, department stores, online retailers and multiple retailers. If you keep the conversations and networking opportunities going once the trade show finishes, there’s no doubt you’ll see a greater return on investment as your business continues to flourish.

Be part of London’s most iconic menswear trade show when you exhibit at Jacket Required AW20. The upcoming edition will be held at the Old Truman Brewery on 22nd and 23rd January.
