Landing in London

Morning all,

Inspiring, innovative and influential – just a handful of the observations directed towards the fashion that filters through the red-bus filled streets of London. A fashion capital, with low-key, premium, contemporary casualwear rising in popularity and relevance, as quickly yet as controlled as each new skyscraper in the City.

As Jacket Required prepares to open the doors to spring/summer 2016 at Shoreditch’s Old Truman Brewery, welcoming a whole host of brands and buyers – the collection of labels joining us from across Europe and beyond offers a complete wardrobe for any man about any town, without any affectation.

See the full list of brands joining us so far on the Jacket Required website.

Ben Sherman

King of Carnaby Street, Ben Sherman’s distinct and inherent brand DNA is explored and reinterpreted for the new season – inspired by signature references from the brand’s Mod heritage and its adoption by British sub-cultures, while retaining a sharp London style and its foundation in shirt-making.

The spring/summer 2016 offering continues with its renowned sartorial approach to style, which each season reinforces confidence and personal pride. Encapsulating the sights and swinging sounds of 1960s London – trends Carnaby Gingham, London Vinyl and British Beach Huts are presented, along with a collaboration with The Beatles. Inspired by the Sergeant Pepper Drum symbol, the special capsule collection honours the brand’s rich 50 year history, infused with authenticity and expertise.

Daniel Wellington

The story behind Daniel Wellington begins with a trip overseas. Founded in Sweden by Filip Tysander, not long after a visit to the British Isles, where he had met a gentleman of that name. The man had impeccable style and elegance – relaxed yet unpretentious – and made a lasting impression, so when Tysander began to design a series of classic minimalist watches, he felt it was only right to name the brand after him.

Wellington chose to wear his Rolex watches with old weathered NATO watch bands, kept from his days in the British Army. Retaining this feature, today the brand specialises in colourful NATO style strap wristwatches, interchangeable with elegant leather options – all boasting a traditional yet crisp design that blend together perfectly, appealing to everyone with a sense for classic and timeless design – creating watches to wear for many years to come.

Only & Sons

Believing that contemporary fashion can be full of character, impeccably crafted and highly profitable, Only & Sons' market-driven menswear brand focuses on good craftsmanship and fashion that is both original and on trend, uncomplicated and seamlessly constructed.

Inspired by creative environments – modern metropoles where urban subcultures thrive and inventive originals innovate and influence the world around them, simply by being themselves. Always authentic, the brand combines the unexpected and bold with the iconic and traditional, from timeless and classic to eccentric and challenging – for those who are selective in their search for ways to effortlessly express their individuality.

Newgate Watches

Already a destination brand for iconic, design-led clocks, this year, Newgate turn its attention to creating wearable timepieces, born from the same design stable and DNA. Amping up vintage to epic proportions, its retro-inspired watches are rebelliously oversized, brazenly bold and outstandingly stylish.

In a mission to provide an oasis of Britishness, the label draws from a rich heritage of design history to produce a considered, eclectic collection – brimming with style and conviction. Dials are distinctive, with deep-casings commanding attention to pack a powerful aesthetic punch.

NICCE

Established midway through 2013, young clothing brand NICCE has quickly made a name for itself as an emerging lifestyle label, building its brand and reputation by executing clean, contemporary streetwear staples. Influenced by electronic dance music’s cultural hot spots such as Ibiza and Berlin, its heart remains firmly in East London.

Function meets fashion, with a focus on developing an honest approach – balancing a simple, no-fuss design, while playing with prints and patterns. Drawing inspiration from London's ever-changing culture and music scene, its clothing pushes forward in new directions, breaking boundaries while forever maintaining its original ethos.

DOCKSRIO

Brazilian footwear brand DOCKSRIO presents an extensive new collection for spring/summer 2016. Upholding a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship and striking design – the eco-conscious label steps into the season ahead with new styles and colour-ways.

Repurposing exotic tilapia skin – a bi-product of the food industry – DOCKSRIO hand-crafts each shoe in Franca, the footwear capital of Brazil, using organic tanning practices free from water polluting chemicals to create premium footwear that won't cost the world. Working solely with family-owned factories that provide the highest welfare to their artisans, materials are ethically sourced, allowing DOCKSRIO to ensure shoes don't compromise on sustainability or style.

Until next time, thanks from all at...
